Certified Nurse Assistants are an essential part of the patient-care team. CNAs not only provide physical care for patients but also emotional & spiritual support, truly making a difference in the lives of patients and families. Students who enroll in the Nurse Assistant Program are taught the theoretical aspects in a regular classroom setting, practice patient-care skills in the school’s laboratory or guided off-campus assignments, and engage in supervised patient care in clinical environments to master the techniques and procedural skills that are required for effective employment. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a diploma from New Start School and are eligible to take the clinical and written examinations conducted at our school and clinical sites by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

NEW START SCHOOL is a healthcare training school in McAllen, Texas. It prepares students for work in Certified Nurse Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Phlebotomy fields. Training is available in English and Spanish, with hands-on practice in a school laboratory, off-campus assignments, and clinical environments. The school awards a diploma to students who successfully complete a program and states that graduates may be eligible to take clinical and written examinations at the school and clinical sites. Its preparation is oriented toward employment possibilities in medical clinics, hospitals, physician offices, laboratories, and other health care facilities. CPR certification and training classes are also offered, and a CNA refresher course is available for experienced CNAs who need to retake an examination.
