CNA/NAC

We prepare students for Nursing Assistant Certification through the Washington State Department of Health. Our curriculum prepares you to provide compassionate, competent, holistic care. You will be equipped to work on care teams in a variety of settings—not just long-term care toward the best quality of life for every individual you serve. The CNA/NAC program is 120 hours (approximately 3 weeks). Our program is unique in many ways: Tuition is $850.00. This price includes everything you need for the course (textbook, HIV/AIDS Certification, First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, uniform, background check, professional resume). You will not have any other costs for the training program. Your only other cost for becoming a Nursing Assistant Certified is your licensing fee ($85.00 to the Department of Health) and your state examination fee ($124.00 to Pearson Vue). You will receive professional skill building training. Our students complete clinical experience in multiple settings. Other programs only offer a clinical experience in one Skilled Nursing Facility; in our program you gain experience in multiple. Your experience and skills are more inclusive because of this training. Our students have the opportunity to experience “life happenings.” Our teaching facilities call upon us throughout the course to be involved with procedures during class. You don’t have to wait until week 3 of our program to see real life care. We offer our students the Mental Health/Dementia Care certification training during the length of the program for $100.00. The cost of this training is $200.00 outside of the CNA training program. We also offer our students the Nurse Delegation and Diabetes training during the length of the program so they are ready to administer medications. The CNA program is made up of three parts: Theory (60 hours): Classroom lecture, discussion, videos, class projects, HIV/AIDS Certification, First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. Clinical Lab (20 hours): Students practice skills in a simulated patient care environment. Clinical (40 hours): Students work directly with patients or residents on the floor under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. When you successfully complete the clinical experience, you receive a New Chapters diploma and are eligible for the Washington State Nursing Assistant Examination. We are a NACES test site and you can take your test at our school—where you practiced with the people you practiced with!

Nurse Delegation

Online

Nursing Assistants and Home Care Aides are allowed to perform certain tasks normally performed by a licensed nurse when they become certified by a Nurse Delegation training program. As a nurse delegated member of a care team, your role as a caregiver can expand to include tasks such as administering prescription medications and blood glucose testing. The Nurse Delegation classes we offer are self-study and a Registered Nurse instructor is available as a resource to you as you complete your materials. The hours assigned to these courses can be applied to your continuing education requirements. If you have completed a Nursing Assistant Certified training program the same year that you complete the Nurse Delegation classes, your Nurse Delegation training hours can be applied to the following year’s continuing education requirements.
