Students in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program study the biological, physical, and behavioral sciences to prepare them for the nursing curriculum. The program prepares graduates to assist a diverse patient population within the community through health maintenance, as well as caring for them across the lifespan, through illness, injury, or disability. Utilizing a patient-centered approach, the program prepares graduates to care for their patients through evidence-based practice, critical thinking skills, innovation and creativity, and excellent communication skills. Upon graduation, the registered nurse will lead, manage, and coordinate care with other health care disciplines within our community. The program is based on the fundamental core values of caring, diversity, ethics, excellence, holism, integrity, and patient-centeredness. Graduates received the Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Nursing (ADN) and are eligible to take the licensure exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN). In person Criminal Justice: Corrections certification Classes

This certificate is designed for students who wish to fulfill the educational requirements to be eligible to apply to enter a state-approved training program for the position of corrections officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections.  Students must earn a 2.0 in all courses to be eligible to apply for the training program.  Students may also apply this coursework toward the associate degree in Corrections.  Jobs in the corrections fields include federal and state prisons, county and city jails, halfway houses, probation and parole departments, and private security.

Corrections Officer Training Program Agreement: After successful completion of Part I or Parts I & II of the Michigan Correctional Officers’ Training Council’s approved Corrections Officer Training Program at Mott Community College students will receive credit for the following courses:  FRSC 161 , HEAL 125 and any CORR general electives for a total of up to 13 credit hours.  To receive this credit the student must present a copy of the Corrections Officer Training Program Certificate/Transcript to the Registrar’s Office.  This agreement applies only to the Corrections Associate of Applied Sciences and Certificate programs.
