Minnesota State Community and Technical College - Wadena Campus
This program is for licensed practical and vocational nurses who are seeking to become registered nurses. Students are awarded 11 prior learning credits for completing their practical nursing degree and licensure. Eligible applicants will complete a transition course prior to joining ADN students in the second year of the ADN program on the Fergus Falls or Wadena campus. The Role Transition course is offered during the summer semester.
As a student in the HVAC/R program, you will gain the skills needed to begin a career in residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, ducting, air conditioning and refrigeration. The 35-credit diploma program is offered on the M State campuses in Moorhead and Wadena.

Our 64-credit online AAS degree in Health Information Technology/Coding prepares students for careers in health information management, where professionals care for patients by caring for their medical data.

The Associate Degree Nursing program is designed for students with no previous nursing experience who are seeking to become registered nurses. Our Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena campuses offer the two-year Associate Degree Nursing program. The Associate Degree Nursing program is designed to prepare students to deliver nursing care in a variety of settings as registered nurses. The graduating nurse will be able to provide nursing care in hospitals, long-term care centers, clinics, community health and other health-related facilities.
The Minnesota Board of Nursing has officially approved the Associate Degree Nursing program at M State.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification class offered by Minnesota State Community and Technical College - Wadena Campus (MSCTC-Wadena) is an excellent way to learn the basics of nursing and patient care. The program covers the basics of nursing care, including patient rights, vital signs, infection control, and communication skills. It is offered in a convenient and affordable format for students living in Wadena, MN and the surrounding area.

Medical office assistants are highly trained office specialists who assist in coordinating medical office functions including patient appointment scheduling, telephone communications, medical record maintenance, medical transcription and patient billing processes. Successful medical office assistants have excellent communication skills and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
M State's Medical Administrative Assistant AAS prepares graduates to work in a variety of medical settings, handling all types of administrative duties for private practices, hospitals and clinics. The inclusion of liberal arts courses in the program prepares graduates to expand the traditional role of medical office assistants and move into leadership roles.
Program graduates are highly trained medical office specialists who are prepared to accept responsibility for the coordination of the medical office functions and patient billing processes that comprise the business of health care facilities. Successful medical administrative assistants have excellent communication skills and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
M State has an articulation agreement with Minnesota State University Moorhead which allows graduates of the Medical Administrative Assistant AAS program to transfer 50 program credits into MSUM's bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration.
M State's 16-credit certificate program in Phlebotomy trains phlebotomy technicians to draw blood from patients for various laboratory tests and procedures needed as part of patient diagnosis and treatment.
The program, offered on our Fergus Falls campus, provides training in bedside testing and in computer and communication skills. Students learn the skills needed for employment in an outpatient clinic or hospital setting. The one-semester program includes a five-week clinical experience in an affiliate health care facility.
