Medical Skills For Life Institute
This 13 week phlebotomy training program was designed to provide, through didactic and practical instruction, training in venipuncture. Didactic lectures cover the theory, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology pertaining to all the Body Systems. Practical instruction provides hands-on training in venipuncture technique verified through a skills check-off system. Students will perform live draws during the program. Laboratory tests include but are not limited to Urinalysis (Regent Strip) and Culture and Sensitivity tests. Students are also required to complete a 120 hour externship.
You will be certified as a phlebotomist and a lab assistant and qualified for "both jobs". You will also have the option of being an EKG Tech in the same time frame. It will be at a reduced cost and you will then have "3" job certifications in 13 weeks.
Clinical medical assistants are recognized as some of the most versatile and important members of any medical practice. They work in the back office with the doctors, nurses and other clinical personnel. They also can perform some administrative tasks and other duties as needed making them one of the most valuable professionals in the medical field. With our program you will get a certificate in Medical Assisting, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant and optional Medical Billing and Coding.
