In this 200-hour entry-level program, students will gain in-depth knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician. The curriculum covers essential topics, including drug-related problems, pharmacy practice standards, dispensing functions, and inventory control. Students will also learn about drugs, their absorption, distribution, excretion, generic and brand names, side effects, risk-benefit analysis, prescription interpretation, and refill processing. The program includes the understanding of hospital pharmacy, unit dose distribution systems, medication labels, pharmaceutical calculations, and more.
Upon completion of this program, students will be well-prepared for employment in various healthcare settings, including pharmacies, hospitals, emergency medical facilities, clinics, and more.
