Liberty’s online Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Middle Grades – Science is a teaching licensure-track gives students the specialized knowledge they need to teach science topics at the middle grades level. The content of this degree is designed to meet state licensure requirements for teaching middle grades science in Virginia and allow students to apply for reciprocity in other states. This program also meets standards set by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Students in the B.Ed. in Middle Grades – Science will build on a foundation of teaching and education knowledge with specialized course content that prepares them to teach on all level-appropriate topics in science. Students will also gain hands-on experience in a classroom in their communities through combined 240 credit hours of practicum and student teaching. With these skills, students will be prepared to pursue roles as K-12 science curriculum coordinators, licensed middle grades science teachers, private school science teachers, teachers’ aides, and science tutors.
