Liberty’s online Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Middle Grades – Math is a teaching licensure-track gives students the specialized knowledge they need to teach math topics at the middle grades level. The content of this degree is designed to meet state licensure requirements for teaching middle grades mathematics in Virginia and allow students to apply for reciprocity in other states. This program also meets standards set by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Students in the B.Ed. in Middle Grades – Math will build on a foundation of teaching and education knowledge with specialized course content that prepares them to teach on all level-appropriate topics in math. Students will also gain hands-on experience in a classroom in their communities through combined 240 credit hours of practicum and student teaching. With these skills, students will be prepared to pursue roles as K-12 math curriculum coordinators, licensed middle grades math teachers, private school math teachers, teachers’ aides, and math tutors.
