Liberty University's Associate of Science (A.S.) in Physics is designed to help students gain a broad understanding of physics and its applications. With our A.S. in Physics online, students can prepare for exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Students who have an interest in the physical universe and use analytic methods to test their hypotheses will likely find our A.S. in Physics to be an excellent choice. This program is designed for both amateur physicists who are pursuing a college credential as well as experienced industry professionals who add a credential to reflect their experience and dedication to continuing their education. Students in this program will study topics such as calculus, calculus-based physics, differential equations, waves, optics, and electronics. In addition, students will study advanced topics including modern physics and quantum mechanics. Students who complete this program are eligible to pursue a variety of careers in public and private industries. Students may choose to work for private engineering firms or research labs, continue their studies by transferring their credits into our Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics program, or work for the government as a consultant or lab researcher.
