The Los Angeles Skills Academy is proud to introduce our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program. This comprehensive course is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the essential field of healthcare.

The Role of a CNA

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you'll be instrumental in patient care, working under the guidance of Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). This position is often a springboard for furthering your healthcare career, offering significant real-world knowledge and experience.

What the Program Entails

  • Well-rounded Education: Our curriculum comprises 60 hours of theory and 100 hours of supervised hands-on clinical practice.
  • In-depth Instruction: Learn from experienced nurses, gaining knowledge in crucial procedural skills.
  • Life Skills Training: We ensure you're not only equipped with nursing skills but also prepared for the job market with resume writing and interview preparation.

Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the California Nurse Assistant State Exam, enabling them to become certified CNAs.

Prerequisites for Registration

Prospective students must be at least 16 years of age and possess a valid social security number. Post-registration, additional requirements include a physical examination and background check.

What's It About? Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program is about making a difference in healthcare. As a CNA, you'll support patients' daily needs under a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supervision. It's a rewarding and challenging role that's always in demand. Plus, being a CNA is a fantastic stepping stone to becoming an LPN or RN!

Who's It For? From career starters to those looking for a change, our program is open to everyone interested in healthcare. All you need is to be at least 16 and have a valid Social Security Number.

What Does It Involve? The LA Skills Academy NAT Program offers a mix of theory and practical experience, meeting California Department of Public Health’s requirements. You'll learn essential skills like bathing, dressing, and patient positioning through lectures, role-playing, and clinical practice.

After The Program Graduates from our program can test for the California Nurse Assistant State Exam and become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). We even support you with resume and interview preparation!

Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Program

Designed for healthcare professionals and others needing to learn essential cardiovascular life support skills, our Basic Life Support (BLS) program is a rigorous training that adheres to the American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Program Outline:

This program equips participants with the necessary skills to swiftly identify and effectively respond to a variety of life-threatening emergencies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Mastery of high-quality CPR methods for adults, children, and infants
  • Comprehensive understanding of the AHA Chain of Survival, with an emphasis on BLS components
  • Training in the early and adept use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Instruction in delivering effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Emphasis on the role of teamwork in multi-rescuer resuscitation and how to contribute effectively during CPR
  • Skills to alleviate foreign-body airway obstructions (choking) in adults and infants
