Island CPR’s Certified Nurse Aid program is offered at the Kona Office in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. It trains students to provide basic patient care, observe patient conditions, report information to nurses, and assist with patients’ physical and emotional needs while preparing for Prometrics testing. The primary pathway uses blended learning through Zoom lectures and in-person lab sessions, with all labs attended at the Kona facility, and runs for 100 hours on Thursdays and Fridays. Training includes lectures, skills practice, and practical application with long-term care facilities. Admission requires a current two-step TB test, a current flu shot or waiver, TB testing, a gold test or chest X-ray before in-facility training, age 18 or older, a valid Hawaii state ID, and a high school diploma or GED.
