Innovation Institute of Healthcare Solutions offers the Nurse Aide Refresher / CNA Refresher Course in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The course refreshes hands-on clinical skills for individuals returning to healthcare and prepares participants to challenge or retake the state exam, leading to a refresher course completion certificate. It is delivered in hybrid formats with online review, optional skills support, and hands-on clinical skills refreshers, running for one or two weeks. Admission requires a valid identification document, a Social Security card, and proof of previous healthcare training or certification. Eligible participants include expired nursing assistants and individuals who completed approved Nurse Aide training without taking the state exam, as well as certain healthcare professionals with relevant clinical training.

This American Heart Association credentialed course covers first aid basics -

• Medical, injury, and environmental emergencies,
• CPR, AED and choking relief for adults, children and infants.

 

Learn the basic steps of CPR, use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and FBAO (Foreign Body Airway Obstruction) for victims of all ages. Receive instruction to recognize emergency situations involving heart attack, choking, respiratory and cardiac arrest in adults, children and infant victims. Instruction will be provided to manage life-threatening environmental emergencies, injuries and medical emergencies such as, seizures, allergies, diabetes, heat stroke and snake bites.

Upon successful completion, you will receive an AHA Heartsaver CPR/First Aid certification eCard which is valid for two years.

This NC Board of Nursing-approved course is designed to meet the training requirements to become qualified as a Medication Aide. It will cover the six rights of medication administration for non-licensed personnel. Topics will include medication administration via the oral, topical, and instillation routes, medical asepsis, hand hygiene, terminology, and legal implications. Upon completion, students should be prepared to take the competency exam and demonstrate the skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry. 24 Hours (No Clinical)
