If you want to pursue a career as a registered nurse (RN), the Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN/RN) at High Desert Medical College will prepare you to become eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Passing the NCLEX proves your nursing abilities, allowing you to become a licensed RN. The Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN/RN) is available at the Lancaster campus only. Our next start date is January 20, 2025 for both the ADN/RN full program and the LVN to RN bridge – Advanced Placement program.
The field of pharmacy technician training involves learning how to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and interacting with customers. Students will acquire knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug interactions, preparing them for entry-level positions in various healthcare settings. The curriculum covers topics such as pharmacy law and ethics, medication safety, and regulatory guidelines to ensure safe and effective patient care. Hands-on experience in compounding medications, processing prescriptions, and utilizing pharmacy software systems will be provided to develop practical skills in a real-world pharmacy setting. Additionally, students will learn about the importance of communication, professionalism, and maintaining patient confidentiality in the healthcare industry, setting a foundation for a successful career as a pharmacy technician.
