Electrocardiogram Technician (EKG)

Student will label the major internal and external structures of the heart; describe the major functions of the cardiovascular system. Identify the five types of blood vessels, label the electrical conduction of the heart and obtain a standard EKG rhythm strip. Describe and identify ECG characteristics of Sinus Rhythms, Atrial Rhythms, Junctional Rhythms, Ventricular Rhythms, Atrioventricular, AV Blocks, different components of Pacemaker Rhythm.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

HeartSaver-NY Medical Training Center has been educating certified health care professionals since 2007. We specialize in training individuals for certifications like Home Health Aides (HHA) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and we prepare applicants for the Phlebotomy Technician and Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician exam. Our instructors have over 30 years of real-life experience in the health care field as a NYS Registered Nurse. All our students receive intensive classroom instruction from individuals who have real-world experience in the healthcare field (home care/hospital/nursing home). Students in our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) program receive 125 hours of instructions, which also includes true-to-life experiences in a laboratory. Near the end of the program, each student in the CNA program participates in a 30-hour externship at a nursing home under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Students in the Home Health Aide (HHA) program receive three weeks of classroom instruction. At the end of the program, each student undergoes a clinical evaluation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Students in the Phlebotomy Technician and Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician programs receive hands-on training on the latest equipment and techniques in their field. On completion of the CNA or the HHA program, students are certified and are immediately qualified to work for any home care agency within the state of New York. We also offer Job Assistance upon completion of course. Students in the Phlebotomy Technician and Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician programs attend classes for 60 hours and receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program. Students in the Phlebotomy Technician program are then required to take the National Health Career Association Certification examination, and the students in the Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician program are required to take the National Certificate Examination in order to practice in the field. For your convenience, classes are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends. HeartSaver-NY Medical Training Center also offers emergency cardiovascular care programs (ECC) to healthcare providers. We offer all life saving courses for everyone everyday. We offer classes in Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Phlebotomy Technician, Echocardiogram Technician, CPR/AED, First Aid, BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP Training. Based in Brooklyn, NY we also offer courses throughout the New York City Metro region conveniently at your location. We conduct corporate CPR/AED and First Aid training for a number of business throughout the five boroughs of the NYC area. We have a number of options that we can cater to your profession, business, school, or family. We are a certified American Heart Association Training Center.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

This Nurse Aide Assistant program will prepare students for the New York State (NYS) Nursing Home Nurse Aide Competency (CNA) Examination in order to work as an entry-level nurse aide assistant (CNA) on a healthcare team in various nursing homes/residential health care facilities and hospitals. This course provides training in fundamental nursing skills and theory and is designed to meet the New York State Department of Health curriculum requirements while preparing the student for the NYS Nurse Aide Certification Examination. The course includes both theory and hands-on clinical training in addition to an externship in a Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF). Our Nurse Aide Assistant Course Curriculum is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
