The Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) certification program at Guilford Technical Community College is designed to prepare students to perform and interpret electrocardiograms, which are essential in diagnosing heart conditions. The program covers anatomy and physiology of the heart, ECG equipment, leads and electrode placement, and cardiac monitoring. Students will also learn how to identify and interpret normal and abnormal ECG waveforms, arrhythmias, and ischemic changes.
