The CPR/Basic Life Support certification program offered at Greater Southern Tier (GST) BOCES in Elmira provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This program is open to individuals in the healthcare field, individuals in the community who want to learn basic life-saving skills, as well as students in high school Health courses. The program is taught by certified instructors who combine lecture-based learning with hands-on practice to ensure students are comfortable performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an emergency situation.
