A Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement is required for all Commercial Drivers who hope to take and deliver materials that are deemed hazardous by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Some examples of this include explosives, gases, poisons, and radioactive materials. Drivers who possess this endorsement have greater specific responsibilities than those of the standard professional truck driver. This endorsement also offers drivers other incentives, including being more sought after by companies and carriers, more career opportunities, and higher wages on average. Any Class A CDL truck driver that wants to add this endorsement to their license can now do Hazmat training at Georgia Driving Academy. Due to the ELDT mandate that went into effect on February 7, 2022, the Hazmat classroom training program must be completed before taking the state written test at the BMV or DMV. Georgia Driving Academy’s six (6) hour training is affordable and has flexible schedules for any experienced or entry-level truck driver.
Financial aid may be available for those who qualify.
