Frederick Community College’s HVAC program in Frederick, Maryland, trains students for entry-level work in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related installation, maintenance, and repair. Training is delivered in person at the Monroe Center, with day and evening classes available, and runs for up to 12 months. The four-course advanced pathway covers HVACR fundamentals, controls, installation and troubleshooting, and fossil fuels and hydronic heating; a shorter two-course foundations pathway is also available. Admission requires ENGL 70 or an appropriate placement test score, with accepted Accuplacer Next Gen thresholds. Prior college-level English or a listed exemption may also satisfy the English prerequisite.
