Biomedical equipment technicians install, maintain, and repair medical equipment. They must test and calibrate parts, identifying parts for repair or replacement. These technicians also perform preventative maintenance on critical equipment to ensure high-quality treatment for patients. The course content includes, but is not limited to, electronics, pneumatics, optics and mechanics to troubleshoot, service and repair equipment commonly used for treatment, diagnosis and monitoring of patients in a medical environment.
