Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts Diploma Program offers students the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to obtain an entry-level position in the field. Students will gain hands-on knowledge of sauces, meats, and baked products. In addition, they will learn about kitchen safety and sanitation techniques to ensure food safety. Finally, they will cover management and supervision in the food service industry.
A total of 1005 contact hours is required and divided into 460 lecture hours, 420 lab hours, and 125 externship hours. Employment opportunities: Banquet Cook, Line Cook, and Catering Cook
El Programa de Diploma en Artes Culinarias ofrece a los estudiantes la oportunidad de adquirir las habilidades y conocimientos necesarios para obtener un puesto básico en el campo. Los estudiantes adquirirán conocimientos prácticos sobre salsas, carnes y productos horneados. Además, aprenderán sobre la seguridad en la cocina y las técnicas de saneamiento para garantizar la inocuidad alimenticia. Por último, cubrirán temas de administración y supervisión en la industria de servicios de alimentos

Florida Technical College was established in 1982 to offer post-secondary education in specialized business fields. The main campus in Orlando opened that same year, followed by the Lakeland campus in 1990 and the DeLand campus in 1997. Additional campuses were launched in Kissimmee, Pembroke Pines, and Tampa in 2011, with the South Miami campus opening in 2015.
After four decades of serving Florida’s educational needs, Florida Technical College has officially merged with NUC University, its former sister institution. NUC University has also expanded its reach by incorporating three additional institutions: the Digital Animation & Visual Effects (DAVE) School, Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA) in Florida, and the IBC Technical Division in Puerto Rico. Collectively, these institutions now operate 15 campuses and serve over 25,000 students across Florida and Puerto Rico.

Accreditation, Licenses, Affiliations and Approvals
NUC University (NUC) is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission). NUC’s NUC University – IBC Technical Division (NUC-IBC), NUC University – Florida Technical College (NUC-FTC), The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School (The DAVE School), and Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA) are included in this accreditation. NUC’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on 2019 was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
