Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines are used in nearly every industry to make parts and complete precision tasks. From medical and aerospace to woodworking and metal fabrication, CNC machine operators play a critical role in today’s manufacturing facilities. The CNC course at Erie 1 BOCES is designed to give you the skills you need to start a career as a CNC operator. You will learn how to set up and run CNC mills and lathes using both state-of-the-art computer simulators and actual machines. In addition to working with CNC equipment, students have the opportunity to learn precision machining and measuring techniques using manual machining equipment. Through hands-on experience, students will gain a more thorough understanding of the set-up and operation of CNC equipment.
