The Clinical Medical Assistant Certified program is a 225-clock hour course that teaches the student skills and training necessary to become an Clinical Medical Assistant. The student will have to complete the 100-Hour Nurse Aide Course, complete the 75-Hour Phlebotomy Technician Course, 30-Hour Electrocardiogram Technician Course and the 20-Hour Office Administration course and is required to pass all State/National Exams to become certified to be eligible to sit for the Clinical Medical Assistant Exam through AMCA/NHA.
This 144-hour program is designed to teach students the skills essential for Entry-level work as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in licensed health care agencies. Clinical training is conducted at a local, approved long-term care facility under the direct supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN). The approved curriculum for this course is under the direction and guidelines set by Texas Health and Hummin Services (HHSC).
This seminar is online and reviews the role of the Medication Aide. The Medication Aide Seminar is for current Medication Aides only. Please do not register for this course if you are not currently a Medication Aide in the state of Texas. Estimated Completion Time: 1 day Total Clock Hours: 7 hours total.
The Phlebotomy technician course will teach students how to collect blood for testing purposes. You will be able to identify medical terminology to relate to areas of the clinical laboratory and describe the basic functions of each main body system. Additionally, you will learn the veins or the arms, hands, legs, and feet on which phlebotomy is performed and the proper infection control to maintain safety in the laboratory.
Our Electrocardiogram Technician EKG course is designed to teach our students proper EKG readings and the proper adjustments to fix, read, and record the EKG machine. Students also learn proper preparation of the skin, correct lead placement, and how to correctly input patient information to take their American Medical Certification Association Exam.
The Office Administration program is a 20-clock-hour course that teaches the student skills and training necessary to become a front office assistant. The student will have to complete the 100-Hour Nurse Aide Course, complete the 75-Hour Phlebotomy Technician Course, 30-Hour Electrocardiogram Technician Course, and the 20-Hour Office Administration course and is required to pass all State/National Exams to become certified to be eligible to sit for the Clinical Medical Assistant Exam through AMCA/NHA.
