This is a 90-hour course intended for those who want to be EMS instructors. This program provides instructor candidates with the skills they need to develop and teach EMS programs. Candidates learn about the task of teaching adult learners, including the important concept of multiple intelligences. The course curriculum includes in-person lectures, hands-on practical training, and online learning. An additional 25 hours of student teaching (outside of this course) are required after successful completion of the course. Upon course completion, successful candidates can apply for State of Connecticut certification as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor.
