Covenant Academy is a State-Licensed proprietary school offering Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes. The Signature CNA Day classes are 2-weeks (Monday – Friday). Nursing Assistants work primarily in long term care facilities, however, hospitals and Home Care/Hospice also hire CNA’s. Becoming a CNA is a rewarding and honorable career. You are the “Heart” in the overall operations of any health care facility or home health care agency. We cover topics such as: Infection Control and Safety, Body Mechanics, Bed Making, Personal Hygiene, Vital Signs, Interaction Skills, Nutrition, Height and Weight. Begin your health care profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by getting solid training at The Covenant by experienced instructors. Covenant holds a steady 100% Graduation rate and a 99% pass rate on State Exam. YES, in a fast paced, yet focused accelerated course. You will have (3) core learning methods: Lecture / Videos, Lab Practice, Homework, Quizzes and Workbooks assignments. Clinical at some of the best Long Term Care Facilities in Michigan. When you have successfully completed the program, you will receive a certificate, making you eligible to take the State Exam administered by Headmaster. After passing the State Exam you can officially use the title: C.N.A. (Certified Nurse Assistant). Our students emerge to the Clinical setting after 16 hours are mastered in the school lab. Skills are practiced on Ms. Marvella (the mannequin). After successfully completing 16 hours in the Lab; you are eligible to go to the clinical rotation. Clinical rotation is supervised by a State certified TTT (Train the Trainer) nurse instructor at the local Long Term Care Facility.
The Certified Nursing Assistant class offered by Covenant Academy (CA) in Detroit, MI is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful nursing assistant. The curriculum covers topics such as patient care, nutrition, infection control, and anatomy and physiology. Through hands-on practice, students will gain the confidence and experience needed to excel in the field of nursing.
The Medical Assistant (MA) works alongside the provider, mainly in medical offices and clinics. Many medical assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties. This 12-week course will introduce the student to medical terminology, pharmaceutical drugs, computer applications, greeting patients, answering telephones, and scheduling appointments, and more.
The student will also learn entry-level basics of insurance/billing, medications, injections, vaccinations, Coding, Lab draw skills, and 12-Lead EKG. All of this knowledge will prepare the student for the 4 – week (20 hours per week) clinical intern training at a Physician’s – office or an Outpatient / Urgent Care Facility and or Lab. There is no guarantee externship site will be close to your home, sites are limited. You are required to go to our contract sites unless you have a physician who is willing to let you do your externship at their office. A contract must be signed with the physician and Covenant.
