At Cornerstone Medical Training Center (CMTC), our Patient Care Technician program is split into 3 phases and allows our students the opportunity to take part in the CNA training program, the Phlebotomy training program, and the EKG Technician training program. Our PCT program is designed to prepare our students to confidently address the responsibilities of a PCT. Students will learn basic concepts of patient care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, electrocardiogram (EKG) and Phlebotomy skill training and disease management. This program is a total of 228 hours (105.5 theory, 88.5 lab, 34 clinical hours) and is a combination of classroom, lab, and clinical experience. Content delivered in multiple formats including lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. Clinical will be held at an approved long-term care facility, providing students the opportunity to interact with nursing home residents and staff members in multiple capacities. After successful completion of the program, each student will have met the requirements to be eligible to take the state CNA certification exam with Prometric and PCT certification exam with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
