This course will prepare the student to communicate in the healthcare environment while providing a comprehensive introduction to medical terminology emphasizing the language of medical terminology today. In addition, students will receive an introduction to processing health insurance claims and health insurance plan options. All aspects of medical insurance, including plan options, carrier requirements, state, and federal regulations, uniform coding systems, abstracting relevant information from source documents and accurately completing the billing process.
