Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid Training
Basic CPR/AED and First Aid is a beginner course designed for anyone who is NOT in a healthcare profession, but wants or needs to know the basics of CPR, AED use, and First Aid in case of an emergency. This class meets OSHA CPR requirements. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 2 year certification through the American Heart Association.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is an advanced course for healthcare providers that covers the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. Upon completion, students will understand how to recognize respiratory failure, shock, and cardiac arrest and initiate advanced resuscitation with airway and ventilation control, vascular access, fluid and medication therapy and identify and treat rhythm disturbances. In this course, skills are taught using learning stations for practicing essential skills and simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active participation.
This HSI certified program is a combination of online course work and real-world simulations designed to prepare all types of individuals to respond effectively in an active shooter situation. In order to make this a more complete experience, Colorado Cardiac CPR & First Aid are including “Stop the Bleed” in conjunction with its AVERT courses. With the increased frequency of mass shootings in the United States, it just makes sense to be prepared to respond to such a situation rapidly and responsibly until first-responders arrive. This course is open to the public. Students are required to successfully complete the online coursework prior to their in-person skills training at the Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid facility. Upon registration and payment received, students will receive a confirmation email with a link to their online portion.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is an advanced course designed for healthcare professionals who assist in cardiopulmonary arrest, cardiovascular emergencies, or emergency response. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, including ventilation with a barrier device, use of an AED on adults and children, and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims.
The American Academy of Pediatrics’ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an excellent option for anyone in the medical field who has yet to receive their certificate. Any medical professional working in Labor and Delivery and the NICU, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, should have a deep understanding of the principles and practice of neonatal resuscitation.
Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) is an advanced EMS education course that fully addresses how to best assess and manage the most common medical crises in patients. This course is for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. This is a 2 day course (16 hours total) with the first day focusing on lecture and the second day focusing on hands on skills and patient scenarios. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 4 year AMLS certification through NAEMT and 16 hours of CAPCE credit.
Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is an advanced course created by the U.S. Department of Defense Committee on TCCC to teach strategies for providing trauma care on the battlefield. TCCC discusses care under fire, tactical field care, and tactical evacuation care. While having a military, medical or law enforcement background is helpful it is NOT REQUIRED to participate in this course. All participants are encouraged to join this class to learn these life saving techniques. Our instructors will train you on the techniques that you will need to know to treat a casualty that has been wounded in the Care under Fire portion of the class.
