The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer at Coastline College is designed to provide students with the common core of lower-division courses required to transfer and pursue a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration. This includes business degrees with options such as accounting, finance, human resource management, international business, management, operations management, and marketing.

Core discipline courses focus on introductions to accounting, business, economics, business law, business communication, and business math. These courses will assist students in selecting their field of business specialization and they provide the foundation for future study of contemporary business and management.

The Accounting curriculum provides a rigorous program of beginning through advanced courses designed to meet the needs of the student transferring to a university, the career changer seeking the required courses to sit for the CPA exam, and the employee who endeavors to gain a new skill.

Our Accounting Department maintains close ties with both local universities and local business firms to ensure that our program provides seamless pathways to advanced degrees, CPA candidate status, and immediately obtain employable expertise.

The Homeland Security (TSA) Certificate provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully enter the field of homeland security, specializing in employment positions overseeing security management, intelligence analysis, transportation safety and border security. The sequence of courses offered within the certificate helps develop a student's understanding of the interrelated duties, relationships, and responsibilities impacting personnel employed to ensure U.S. national security.

This certificate program provides students with a solid background in the field of information technology and cloud computing. The program courses help students prepare for entry-level information technology positions in cloud computing and operations, such as Cloud Administrator, Cloud Architect, Cloud Systems Operator, Cloud Security Specialist, Cloud Developer. Topics include computer networking fundamentals, cloud security, introductory programming, server administration, cloud architecture, cloud application support and development, cloud service support, and cloud system operations. The program courses emphasize hands-on and technical writing assignments to help students develop in-demand skills for the information technology workforce.

The Certificate of Achievement in Data Analytics will provide students with a solid foundation in the fields of data science, business intelligence, and analytics. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs, or to help them advance into careers, such as Business Analytics Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Visualization Developer, Operations Research Analyst, and Market Research Analyst. Topics covered will include statistics, research methods, SQL queries and data views, systems analysis and design, and applied predictive analytics.

Coastline College offers a variety of courses and state-of-the-art computer labs at an affordable tuition. The Garden Grove campus now hosts a Testing Center in the computer lab where you can take certification exams such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, and Linux. Students taking networking courses at Coastline can receive a discounted voucher for select CompTIA exams.

With a certificate in the computer networking field, you can find employment as a Network Technician, Technical Support Specialist, Test Engineer, Network Administrator, Systems Analyst, Information Systems Architect, or Systems Integrator.

The American Bar Association (ABA) approves Coastline's Paralegal Studies Program. The Paralegal Program prepares personnel for the intermediary position between the legal secretary and the attorney, performing work under the supervision of an attorney. Paralegals work in law offices and other legal and law related environments and many interact with clients. A paralegal shall not provide legal advice or engage in conduct that constitutes the unauthorized practice of law including contracting with a natural person other than an attorney for the performance of paralegal services (California Business & Professions Code, Sections 6450 etseq.). This program is not intended to prepare students for law school or the practice of law.
