Program Overview

  • This program delivers comprehensive understanding of blood and its components, encompassing hands-on skills in phlebotomy, special collecting and processing.
  • Students are trained in crucial aspects of laboratory skills requiring quality assurance and specimen handling. This includes collection and handling of various bodily fluids like blood, urine, wound, throat, and stool.
  • Students gain proficiency in verifying records, preparing specimens for microbiology department, point-of-care testing, and running controls on instruments across various departments within the lab.
  • Emphasizing real-world learning, students work in teams, practicing skills on one another.

Equipment and Supplies

  • All courses require students to have a laptop or tablet.
  • Student supplies are provided, including a set of scrubs, lab coat, face shield, name tag, and a bookbag of lab supplies.
  • Course materials encompass e-books, handouts, and necessary phlebotomy and specimen processing supplies.
