The Certificate in Veterinary Assistant program provides you with the knowledge and technical skills needed for an entry-level position as a Veterinary Assistant. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on labs, you'll learn how to assist veterinarians in the exam room, interact with animals and their owners, provide recommendations for preventative care, and utilize computer technology to enhance your employability. 

Externship Requirement & Program Length

  • As part of the Veterinary Assistant training program, you'll be required to complete a 180-hour internship at a local Veterinary Hospital or clinic, depending on your campus.
  • Complete the program in just 10 months (40 weeks). Charter College offers classes every five weeks, providing exceptional flexibility. 

Blended Learning Delivery Method

  • The Certificate in Veterinary Assistant program is available in a blended learning format, combining classroom and online learning. This format allows you to balance your classwork with family, work, and other commitments.
