Our Phlebotomy Technician Training offers comprehensive education to prepare students for careers in dynamic laboratory environments like hospitals, clinics, and blood banks. Through our program, students:
Acquire knowledge on anatomical terminology related to blood collection
Learn and adhere to essential protocols and procedures in a laboratory environment
Master techniques for capillary and venous specimen collection and transportation
Understand specimen logging and laboratory processing
For admissions, we require:
Completed Phlebotomy Technician Program Admission Application
Transcripts of High School graduation or GED completion
Two completed reference forms
Current immunizations records
Physical exam completed within the last year
Current CPR certification for Healthcare providers
A criminal background check and urine drug screen
The program includes a Basic Phlebotomy Lecture (32 hours) and Basic Phlebotomy Lab (64 hours). The lecture component covers various blood collection methods, specimen handling, and the theory of laboratory tests. The lab component provides practical experience with a variety of blood collection methods and laboratory procedures, with students expected to perform a minimum of 100 venipunctures and 10 successful skin punctures.
