This program is designed for the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) who want to acquire certification to distribute medication to residents in healthcare facilities such as nursing homes. Students receive training in administering medications, observing, reporting, and documenting resident’s status. This class does not include insulin, gastric, or respiratory. Prerequisites: (Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) Title 310 Ch 677) 18 years of age or older, High school diploma or GED, Current CNA-LTC, Home Health, or Developmentally Disabled Direct Care through the OSDH with no abuse notations, Worked at least six (6) full months as a CNA. State and federal regulations require that you maintain an 80% average on all quizzes and exams. Students must attend 48 hours of class, lab, and clinical rotation. Clinical hours may vary. Clinical hours are mandatory.
