Program Overview

This program provides an in-depth understanding of:

• Dental ethics and terminology
• Interpersonal skills and patient interactions
• Dental records management and Practice Act laws
• Basic finance-related skills

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Assist in dental emergencies
• Handle basic coding, billing, and insurance forms
• Understand various dental procedures and the professional role of a dental assistant
• Effectively function in dental clerical and administrative positions
• Identify dental instruments and their functions
• Manage health records in compliance with privacy policies
• Demonstrate knowledge in managing practice finances

The program culminates with the opportunity to pursue the Dental Assisting National Board Radiation Health and Safety (DANB RHS) exam.
