Training for an exciting and rewarding career as a Clinical Medical Assistant has never been easier. With the growing demand for bi-lingual Clinical Medical Assistants, this program is designed for students whose primary language is Spanish. It is recommended that students have completed or are currently enrolled in an ESL program and have achieved low-intermediate English proficiency. The program will be taught primarily in English, and students will have opportunities to ask questions in Spanish with the instructor translating when clarification is needed. While the textbooks are in English, chapter summaries and other print materials will be provided with Spanish/English translations. Students will train to assist the physician in providing quality patient care, as they learn to obtain patient vital signs, assist with minor medical procedures, perform simple laboratory tests, give injections, perform venipuncture (phlebotomy) administer medications and more. The program includes a 160-hour externship where students will be placed in a private practice, clinic, or urgent care facility. By the time the student is placed in externship, it is expected that the student will be able to converse in both English and Spanish. Tuition includes CPR certification and NHA exam and exam prep materials. Textbooks and scrubs are purchased separately. Students must be at least 18-years old to register.
Financial aid may be available for those who qualify.
