The Nurse Aide Training Program prepares students for an entry-level job as a nurse aide in long-term care facilities and hospitals. Students will learn how to provide basic nursing care to residents and learn how to communicate effectively based on the psychosocial needs of residents and their families. They will acquire the skills necessary to assist residents in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence. Through our CNA program, students also learn how to protect, support, and promote the rights of residents and how to apply safety and preventative measures in the care of residents. Additionally, our CNA classes help students learn how to function as an integral member of the healthcare team and better understand how their skills and observations contribute to the overall health care system for long-term care facility residents.
