The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification program at Black River Technical College prepares students to provide immediate medical care to patients in an emergency situation. It is a one-semester program that covers topics such as patient assessment, respiratory and cardiac emergencies, trauma, and medical emergencies. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam and become licensed EMTs.
