High school seniors in Carroll County now have the opportunity to spend one semester gaining their national firefighter 1 certification in partnership with Carroll County Fire Rescue and Carrollton City Fire Department. This certification is designed to give trainees all the basic knowledge they need about operations and methods in a fire department. This means theoretical training on firefighting strategies and principles and practical training with equipment. In order to participate, students must be 18 years old or turn 18 before their graduation date in May and have a valid driver's license. Students completing the program will be prepared for immediate employment opportunities upon graduation.
