Bartlett Regional Hospital is excited offer a licensed practical nursing (LPN) certificate program in partnership with Alaska Pacific University (APU).
The LPN program is held over two semesters and once complete, an individual can sit for a national examination, NCLEX-PN, and achieve licensure. With licensure, the LPN can provide direct care to patients and provide health teaching to clients in many settings. LPNs often assist registered nurses in more complex, non-routine care. Typical duties include taking vital signs, administering prescribed medications, giving injections, preparing patients for medical examinations and surgical procedures, and recording information in the patient’s medical record.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class offered by Bartlett Hospital (BH) in Alaska provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a CNA. The class is a comprehensive program that covers topics such as medical terminology, patient care, communication, and infection control.
