Atlanta Career Institute
The CNA program is designed to prepare you to take the State Exam. CNA’s work closely with nurses and medical staff to ensure that a patient is provided basic care. The training you receive at ACI includes, but is not limited to, bathing, feeding, dressing patients, observing physical and/or mental changes, and vitals. There are a total of 22 skills taught through lecture, hands-on training, and videos. Each skill is available online for you to review for the state exam. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the Georgia State Exam.
State approved Electrocardiogram (EKG) training program is designed to prepare you to take the National Exam. EKG Technicians provide critical support to medical facilities in a clinical or office environment. Our EKG program will teach all aspects relating to this growing field. Areas of study will include but are not limited to, introduction to EKG, electrical conduction system, dysrhythmias, stress test, telemetry, Holter monitor, artifacts, lead variations (3 lead, 5 lead, and 12 lead). Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: Define the duties of an EKG technician, Have complete understanding, and be able to identify the cause of dysrhythmia, Perform stress tests, and be aware of contraindications, Perform proper lead placement, Complete knowledge of 3 lead, 5 lead and 12 lead placement. Upon completion of the Electrocardiogram (EKG) training program, students will be eligible to take the National Certification Exam at ACI through National Healthcareer Association.
The Certified Nursing Assistant certification program at Atlanta Career Institute is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the healthcare industry. The program covers topics such as patient care, infection control, and medical terminology. Students will participate in practical training sessions and have the opportunity to take the state certification exam upon completion.
ACI now offers a Phlebotomy program that will accommodate the changing needs of our students. Hybrid learning is a combination of online and in-person lab portion. The Hybrid schedule offers the best of both worlds, giving our students the flexibility to work at time that is convenient for you during the initial 3-week (42.5 hour) portion of the class. The total course is 6 or 8 weeks, depending on the schedule you choose. The first 3 weeks of the program will be completed remotely during the time frame of enrolled class. The remaining course period, students attend in-person for lab work and will complete a minimum of 30 blood draws. The lab portion offers students hands-on practice in addition to interaction with peers and face to face interaction with the instructor. Students must choose only one option. Internet access and computer and/or some type of electronic device required for remote course portion. Once the course is completed in its entirety, students will be eligible to take the National exam at ACI ($117)
Our Patient Care Technician program is designed to prepare you to take the National Exam. Patient Care Technicians work closely with patients in most cases directly under the supervision of a nurse or physician. The PCT training you will receive at ACI includes, but is not limited to: blood pressure, heart rate, pulse, administer medications, and acquiring blood samples. The course includes 30 classroom blood draws, as well as 10 EKG performed on fellow students. Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to take National Exams in Phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (EKG), and Patient Care Technician (PCT).
Atlanta Career Institute's Phlebotomy certification program is an intensive 4-week course that prepares students for a career in the medical industry. Students learn the skills required to collect and handle blood samples as well as the proper techniques for interacting with patients. Graduates of the program are qualified to sit for the National Healthcareer Association's certification exam.
State approved Phlebotomy Technician training program is designed to prepare you to take the National Exam. Phlebotomy technicians provide critical support to clinical practitioners, collecting and analyzing blood specimens. Our Phlebotomy technician Training program will teach all aspects related to this growing field. The subjects covered in our Phlebotomy training class will include but are not limited to: how to conduct patient interviews, verify medical records, take vital signs, obtain blood samples through venipuncture and micro collection, prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis, and test and analyze blood samples. The course includes 30 classroom blood draws. Upon completion of the Phlebotomy Technician training program, students will be eligible to take the National Certification for Phlebotomy Technician Exam at ACI through National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
State approved Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) training program is designed to prepare you to take Medical Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy National Exams. Certified Clinical Medical Assistants provide critical support to medical facilities in a clinical or office environment. Our CCMA program will teach all aspects related to this growing field. The CCMA will be trained to work alongside the doctor at a physician office or urgent care center. CCMA’s are trained to assist physicians with minor office surgeries, physical exams, prescription, injections, X-ray procedures, phlebotomy, front and back office procedures, and EKG. The course includes 30 classroom blood draws, as well as 10 EKG performed on fellow students. Upon completion of the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) training program, students will be eligible to take National Certification Exams for CCMA, EKG and Phlebotomy at ACI thru National Healthcareer Association.
