You’ll learn medical terminology and disease processes and will become familiar with healthcare settings, how to explain procedures to patients, monitor blood pressure, position patients, apply Holter monitors and assist cardiologists with stress testing. This EKG Technician program is ideal for someone interested in an entry-level career in healthcare and is often used as the first step towards obtaining advanced certifications like Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy and Patient Care Technician. With the added customer service training through the Professionalism in Allied Health course, you’ll be comfortable professionally interacting with patients, doctors and anyone else you encounter in your career. How to interact with a variety of personalities and having proper bedside manner with patients you are treating is essential to a career in healthcare.
