This course is designed to prepare students to function in assisted Living, aiding residents with administering oral, inhalation, topical, and instillation routes medication under the direct supervision of licensed personnel in the State of New Jersey. Applicants to this program must be a current NJ Certified Nurse Aide or Certified Home Health Aide in good standing. The program lasts 40 hours of classroom training, and three Medication Passes at an Assisted Living Community. The program will consist of 3 parts: Part one will consist of a total of 30 hours, which will be divided between the Registered nurse and the Registered Pharmacist. (22 hours allocated to the RN and 8 to the Resident Pharmacist). Part two will consist of 10 hours, and three days will be assigned to part 3 for the Medication Pass. Upon completing the program, students are eligible to sit for the New Jersey State Examination.
