The MEDICAL ASSISTANT program at Americation Career and Training School ACTS is designed to make an individual equipped with skills required to work in the healthcare field. The 3 main skills that you will learn in this program are Medical Assistant Skills, Phlebotomy Skills and EKG Skills. At successfully completion of the program the students will be eligible for 6 national certifications. The Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, Phlebotomy Technician Certification, EKG Technician Certification, Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician Certification, Cardiac Arrhythmia Technician Certification, and Blood-borne Pathogen Certification. Our program was designed keeping in mind the job market and the competitiveness of skills that the employer expects from an employee. The Medical Assistant program has a curriculum that is educationally flexible and provides career mobility. Graduates are prepared to practice safely within their identified scope of practice and to promote, protect, and improve the health of the diverse community. Emphasis is on technical skills necessary to perform personal care to complex patients, implementation of selected portions of care plan including clinical skills, EKG, and phlebotomy under the supervision of a medical practitioner. Upon graduation students will be considered competent for entry level positions as a Clinical Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant.
