The Certified Home Health program at Always health Institute is a focused training program designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide care and support to patients unable to perform daily tasks independently due to illness, injury, or disability. Our Program consists of 76 hours, where our instructor focused on the theory necessary to be a board-certified Home Health aide. Our curriculum of a Home Health Aide course covers various topics related to patient care, including: Personal care: bathing, grooming, and dressing patients assisting with mobility and exercise, and helping with toileting and incontinence care. Vital signs monitoring: measuring and recording patients’ blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate. Nutrition and hydration: preparing and serving meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring patients’ fluid and food intake. Infection control: following standard precautions to prevent the spread of infections, such as hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, and proper disposal of contaminated materials. Communication skills: interacting with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals, and providing emotional support and encouragement. Safety and emergency procedures: recognizing and responding to emergencies, such as falls, choking, and cardiac arrest, and performing CPR and first aid. Upon completion of the Home Health Aide course, students must pass a competency exam and meet New Jersey’s requirements to become certified. Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) can work in various settings, including patients’ homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospices.
