This course for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) combines instruction and practical experience in advanced aspects of the professional nursing practice of intravenous therapy. IV Certification is not part of the LPN curriculum in Kansas and is greatly desired by employers. This course is aligned with the Infusion Nurses Society’s (INS) Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice, INS Policies and Procedures for Infusion Nursing, and the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN) guidelines for LPN IV Therapy. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to sit for the KSBN-approved examination. Passing this exam authorizes LPN's to practice intravenous therapy within the scope of practice as outlined by State of Kansas statutes. This course also provides 32 CEU hours for LPNs and 20 CEU hours for RNs. CEUs must be applied for through KSBN.
