This course will train students how to administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests, prepare patients for monitoring, and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis. In some settings, a phlebotomist is also responsible for administering EKGs. Having a Phlebotomy certification is not required to take this course, but it is encouraged as having both certifications will enhance the potential for quality job placement. Upon course completion, and if the necessary requirements are met, students will be eligible to sit for the optional Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam through the NHA.
