This 80-hour, six-week Phlebotomy Technician Program equips students to confidently sit for the National Healthcare Association's Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) examination.
The curriculum encompasses:
- Understanding of the five critical domains: Safety and Compliance, Patient Preparation, Routine Blood Collections, Special Collections and Processing.
- Fundamental knowledge on legal aspects in healthcare.
- Basic medical terminology.
- Introductory anatomy/physiology.
A significant part of the training involves hands-on experience, with students expected to carry out a minimum of 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks on live individuals, excluding the use of mannequins. This practical experience is not a mandatory requirement for certification, but is highly recommended to ensure success.
