Our Certified Caregiver Program is tailored to shape a dedicated, adept professional who is well-versed in providing top-notch care in assisted living settings and home health agencies.

Program Details

• A rigorous 62-hour program comprising 50 hours of classroom training and 12 hours of skill/lab training.
• The curriculum aligns with the guidelines of the Arizona State Board of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers (NCIA Board).
• Successful completion earns students a Certificate of Completion, following a State Mandated Final Exam.

Objectives

• Foster effective communication and care services in a culturally sensitive and supportive environment.
• Demonstrate competency in delivering essential care skills as required by the service plan.
• Safely administer medications following the resident's medical practitioner's instructions.
• Adapt care strategies according to changes in patient health due to chronic illness or aging.
• Implement fire safety and infection control principles in resident care.

Prerequisites

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Hold a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Have a Current TB or Clear Chest X-ray.
• Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Completion Requirements

• Complete all classroom and lab hours.
• Score 80% or higher on all competency exams and the course final exam.
• Pass the NCIA Board Written Final Exam through D&S Diversified Technology.
• Hold a current Arizona Food Handlers Card.
