Clinical Medical Assistants (CMAs) provide essential support to physicians and patients. If you have an interest in the healthcare field and have your high school diploma or GED, the Academy of Allied Health’s CMA training program may be a perfect fit for you. Our program prepares you not only for Medical Assisting, but is a great starting point for those individuals who are thinking about continuing their training in a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program or a Registered Nurse (RN) program. To participate and receive CMA certification, students must complete 309 classroom hours and 220 hours of clinical work. They must then successfully pass the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam. Once enrolled, students will learn to complete the tasks associated with being a Clinical Medical Assistant. The Clinical Medical Assistant program will focus on several key components. Students will learn the importance of patient confidentiality, will learn about and complete HIPAA training, and will learn the nuances associated with legal and regulatory patient care issues. Students will also learn to take and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and more. Individuals who participate in our Certified Medical Assistant program will be equipped to excel in the professional world. By learning the latest techniques and completing clinical work, participants will develop a complete understanding of every aspect of being a CMA.
Financial aid may be available for those who qualify.
