Jefferson’s ADN program is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The length of this program, including General Education (Gen Ed) courses, is four (4) full-time semesters. Upon successful completion of this academic program, graduates will be awarded an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Registered Nursing and will be eligible to take the National Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.

Our ADN program is offered in different formats on our Downtown and Shelby County campuses.

The Shelby County campus ADN program operates in a hybrid format, which gives students the unique opportunity to complete lectures primarily online and attend labs/clinicals two-three nights during the evening and/or weekend.

Coding Specialists are specifically trained in the coding of medical/health records. By assigning the proper codes to diagnoses and procedures, accurate financial reimbursement may be made by insurance companies and government agencies. Upon successfully completing RCTC’s online Coding Specialist program, you are eligible to take the national examination sponsored by AAPC and earn the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.

This completely online certificate program prepares students for a position as a medical coder in an acute care hospital, clinic or physician’s office, long-term care facility, or other health care settings. Coders ensure that valid codes are applied to medical diagnoses and procedures to facilitate reimbursement, analysis of patient outcomes, and research. The Medical Coding Specialist Certificate of Achievement prepares students to sit for the national certification examination to become a Certified Coding Associate (CCA). Students in this program must receive a grade of C or better in all courses to be eligible to graduate with this certificate of achievement. The program is approved by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

The University of Cincinnati - Online provides a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program, which is a healthcare certification program that prepares students for the challenging role of a nurse practitioner. This program has a comprehensive curriculum and a flexible online format, enabling students to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality healthcare services. The program covers various aspects of primary care, diagnostic and treatment techniques, patient assessment, disease management, and advanced nursing practices. In addition, students will gain hands-on clinical experience through supervised practicums. The Doctor of Nursing Practice in Visionary Leadership at CCU is designed for advanced practice nursing professionals who already have an MSN. This can be nurse practitioners, nurse administrators, nurse anesthetists, healthcare leaders, clinical nurse specialists, and/or nurse educators. The DNP is considered the final and highest-level clinical nursing practice degree.

The online DNP program at CCU is a practice-focused doctorate that will prepare experts in specialized advanced nursing practice. Graduates will be able to apply credible research and translate evidence-based practice into improved health outcomes. The doctoral program provides the development of advanced competencies for increasingly complex practice and enhanced leadership to strengthen healthcare delivery and patient care.

The DNP degree equips graduates for career advancement and leadership roles in several professions, including Director of Nursing, CNO, leadership in a healthcare system, consulting, academia, staff and professional education, clinical practice, and nurse entrepreneurs.

CCU's online DNP program can be completed in two years of full-time study. The program includes 525 hours of clinical experience beyond the MSN.
