The Cyber Security program includes training in security basics, networks basics and defense, identity and access management, cryptography concepts, system administration, logging and monitoring, programming, web security, project management, and threats and vulnerabilities.

SCI’s Mobile Application Developer program teaches students iOS development, Objective-C, and Swift. The program is estimated to take 33 weeks to complete (700 clock hours).

The Data Science Program is offered via distance delivery and prepares students for an entry-level career in Data Science and analysis. Program focus is on the statistical and computational techniques required to gain meaningful business insights from data in any industry. The program includes training in statistics, computer programming, data visualization, data modeling, big data, and machine learning.

A certificate or degree from Lake Tahoe Community College’s Computer Information Systems IT Technician – Cybersecurity program prepares students to enter a wide variety of entry to mid-level jobs in information technology and cybersecurity, desktop support, system administration, computer application installation, and technically oriented administrative positions offering very attractive starting salaries.

Coursework in this program will expose students to cloud-based NETLAB+ technology, and will prepare you to earn industry-recognized CompTIA certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+, along with Microsoft IT certifications and training. Only six classes are needed to earn the certificate of achievement, which can be completed in a year.

Information technology professionals are held to a higher standard than many professionals, which is why many employers require a background check before hiring any new IT personnel. A felony or misdemeanor still appearing on a background check can become a severe barrier to working as an IT professional at a government or private organization. 

The Collaborative Cybersecurity Program is a two-college collaboration between the Los Rios Community College District, Cosumnes River College and the State Center Community College District, Fresno City College for an online Certificate of Achievement Program.  It is developed as a 100% online program that is created with an emphasis on delivering a program suited to a student base that is interested in having a stackable certificate that will deliver job opportunities, which are highly in demand, and have a solid potential for advancement.  

Colleges in the collaborative teach select courses in the program and commit to roles and responsibilities as participating partners.  Students enrolling in the collaborative program would complete the program in a cohort model taking courses from both colleges.  Students are required to complete the “Online Student Readiness Tutorials” modules prior to enrollment in a cohort.  Students receive student support services while enrolled in the collaborative program.  Students who meet federal eligibility requirements may receive Financial Aid for this program.
